Now Held In The Arms of God

Hi Everyone,
The picture up above was taken last week with our grandson, Gus, holding baby Joseph. There is a work team here from North Carolina and yesterday afternoon we visited OLA to have them meet and play with the babies and kids there. When we arrived we were told that baby Joseph had died on New Year's Day, the day before. We were all speechless and so very sad. Joseph's young mother died in childbirth and other family members were not able to take care of him, so he was brought to OLA to be taken care of. He was so tiny but he was a fighter and we thought he was doing pretty good. The caregiver said that they had just fed him and put him down for a nap and when they went in to check on him, they noticed that he wasn't breathing. He was 2 1/2 months old. Infant mortalities in Nigeria are high. But, for us, this wasn't just another statistic - we knew baby Joseph - we had all held him and loved him. But we are comforted today knowing that baby Joseph is being held in the arms of the Savior.....but we're gonna miss him....alot.

"Then little children were brought to Jesus for him to place his hands on them and pray for them. But the disciples rebuked those who brought them. Jesus said, "let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." When he had placed his hands on them, he went on from there." Matthew 19:13-15

In-joy,
Eileen and Crist

  1. This breaks my heart. Praising the Lord for how much He loves baby Joseph, and has a better plan for him.
